Osoyoos: “Canada’s Only Desert”
Siobhán and I spent the morning beach hopping, until we came upon the perfect spot (pictured above, in glorious-panoramic if you click the pic.)  It was in the shade under some trees, lake view, and washrooms only a 3 minute walk away.  The no over night parking signs were a drag, since we would need to move to elsewhere for the night time; we did, however, find some free RV parking just outside of a Catholic church.  Also, shad-flies, shat-flies, shit-flies. I have learned to hate these things.  My only other experience with them was in a small town in Ontario: I spent over an hour sweeping their carcasses off of a window ledge, and away from a church.
Back on the church topic, we spent the night in bliss, except for Siobhán, she had to pee all night long, I had the luxury of peeing in the bush in the shadows.  The van was also full of little fucking shad-flies.
All and all, Osoyoos is not the ultimate ‘low budget’ hang out spot.  The weather was beautiful, but we had no private beach access, nor did we have money to rent an obscenely expensive boat.  If you had lots of money to blow in a weekend it would be like  spending lots of money at Cultus Lake, but hotter, almost desert like.
