i got my yellow fever jab today. the soonest that i can enter the jungle is in 10 days. if i do 2 weeks of language classes it will be plenty more then 10 days. my arm feels so heavy when i try and do anything with it.
i am done with lima. i have not visited any of the museums, but they do not seam all that interesting. it is time to leave this town because i can not think of anything to do today. i could go see the lesser of two ruin sites, but the greater site was a dive. i not feel like walking around to much either. a full day on a bus is what i can expect for my tomorrow.
check of the luxurious 1st class busses. http://www.cruzdelsur.com.pe/
yesterday i had a feast of a meal. 1 roasted chicken (s/. 9.90) and 1kg asparagus (s/. 6.90.) i had leftovers for lunch today aswell.
had a good time in lima so far. i think i am going to be moving alone this week. i really need to find some spanish classes. i figured with lima being the capital and all it would be easy, and there would be reasonably priced classes. what a silly idea. i will probably be heading to cusco. that is the tourist place to go. machu picchu, the inca trail, et al.
it shall be good. i met some people here that are heading up there, and some people are already there. country is full of people traveling on their own. no one seems to have been able get friends to join them.
i have the traveling runs. i blame the tap water. brush my teeth in it. i figure that if dishes are washed in it, veggies washed in it, coffee and tea mad from it, it can not be THAT bad. most people turn the kettle off within moments of it whistling, not quite the vigorous boil for no less than one minute recommended. anyway, fucking fuck. i have not found menthol toilet paper yet, but i purchased aloe vera scented.

I have arrived in peru. it is a wonderful place. it is strangely comforting being in a place where my life does not matter. i am here for me, i don’t speak the language, i do not really understand everything going on around me. there is a lot of good food, but some of it is terrible.
i sunk my teeth into this “jamaican patty” like thing. i love them. LOVE them. what i tasted instead was pastry covered pickled onions with sugary sauted bell pepper. not quite the same thing. a bit of a taste bud shock really.
one day i look forward to actually doing something in this country, but for now, i am enjoying being on holiday, eating greasy south american burgers and drinking like its the weekend.
